Dr. Lowell Donnelley Biography

Dr. Lowell Donnelley was born and raised in Vandalia, Illinois. He received his bachelor’s degree from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri; a Master of Religious Education and Doctoral Study from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky; and Doctor of Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

He has served as a minister in Missouri, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, Canada, Hawaii, and Illinois. He began his pastorate at the First Baptist Church of Altamont in August of 2003. Previously, he worked 11 years as a student services administrator at the University of Illinois and Oklahoma State University.

He served four years in the United States Air Force, including one year in Viet Nam. His wife, Dr. Mirta Donnelley, is a native of Brazil. She is teaches private piano lessons. The Donnelley’s have two children, Lucas and Megan.
